The lovely peopel from Belvita sent me a sample ofBelvita Breakfast Yogurt Crunch to try out, to see if they’d be any good for busy Mums. Here’s what I thought of them:
The biscuits are a very good consistency and ‘crunch’. They are also very tasty, not too much sugar, and the correct thickness so as to make them feel substantial, but not ‘chunky’.
The Yogurt in- between is very nice. Personally, for me, with the biscuit included, the yogurt was too sweet. This made the biscuit very sweet, and the first two were quite difficult for me to finish.
On trying them on the second morning, it was better, I had it with coffee and a banana, but the banana is sweet to, so I’d probably go for a citrus fruit rather in future.
I think the yogurt could be less sweet, I did like the ‘tangy’ taste in the yogurt, as there was a mild sourness I could taste.
I think the correct amount of yogurt was in the biscuit.
I found that every biscuit had broken off at one end, I think the yogurt is not spread far enough to the sides, but that’s just a comment, and probably a production issue.
Overall I like the product, it is well packaged, you get two biscuits in each foil, just the right amount, the rest don’t go stale in the box as they are individually wrapped which I liked. It also makes the product very portable, and for a busy Mum that’s great. I’d eat it again.
And there are a range of other varieties – they don’t have a filling in the middle and come in individual servings of four biscuits. They are as follows:Milk & Cereals, Fruit & Fibre, Honey & Nuts, and Crunchy Oats.Belvita Breakfast launched in the UK in January 2010.I’d like to declare that I was paid for trying these biscuits out, but I have to say, we do like them, and we’ll be trying the other varieties, so I’m blogging about them cos I like them. Belvita was happy for me just to give them my opinion, and not necesarily blog. Just to let you know!
