Absolutely fantastic with a BBQ or garlic dip – try tomato ketchup, brown sauce, paprika, brown sugar, and bay leaves in varying quantities until you get your ideal BBQ dip, and for the garlic, roast a garlic bulb in the oven, drizzled with oil. Once cooked, squeeze the garlic out of the cloves and mix with crème fraiche. Delicious!
For this breaded mozzarella sticks recipe, you will need the following ingredients:
- 4 mozzarella balls
- 4 tbsp flour
- Salt and pepper
- Paprika, garlic powder, dried herbs
- 8 tbsp breadcrumbs – Japanese or just homemade
- 2 eggs
Method of Preparation:
Slice the mozzarella into rectangular strips about 3cm width and 3cm tall to make sticks.
Pop the flour, salt and pepper into a sandwich bag and shake around until mixed. Put the mozzarella sticks into the bag and make sure they are fully coated. Shake off the excess flour, and maybe set this aside in an airtight container for future use.
Whisk the eggs with some salt to break down the membranes. Dip the mozzarella sticks in them until fully covered.
Mix the herbs, paprika, garlic, and breadcrumbs together. Dip the sticks in after they have been dipped in the eggs, and again, make sure they are fully covered.
Heat a bit of vegetable oil in a frying pan and cook the sticks until golden brown – 1-2 minutes.
Serve with the dips and enjoy!
